Grass
How to remove: Apply hand sanitizer directly onto the stain. Then, wash the garment in your washing machine on a normal cycle. The alcohol in the hand sanitizer helps break down the green pigment in grass
Curry
How to remove: Start by scraping off as much of the curry as possible using a napkin or blunt knife. Rinse the area with cold water, then pat dry. Apply a few drops of washing up liquid to the stain and gently rub it in to tackle the oil. Rinse again with cold water. For stubborn yellow stains, squeeze half a lemon over the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes before washing.
Sweat
How to remove: Place the stained area over a bowl and pour white vinegar onto it. Let it sit for a few minutes, then wash as usual. Alternatively, dissolve 4 tablespoons of salt in 2 pints of warm water, soak the garment overnight, and wash as usual. The salt and vinegar both work to neutralise odours and lift the yellow tint.
Sun cream
How to Remove: Rub a small amount of washing up liquid onto the stain and then dip the stained area in cold water. Prepare a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar, and soak the garment in this solution for an hour. Finally, wash it in your machine on a normal cycle.
Red wine
How to Remove: Sprinkle salt onto the stain and let it sit to absorb some of the wine. Rinse with cold water, then gently rub a bit of liquid detergent into the stain. Rinse again, and then wash on a normal cycle.
Blood
How to Remove: Pour white vinegar directly onto the blood stain and let it sit for 5–10 minutes (or longer if the stain is dried). Dab the area with a paper towel to blot up the stain, then wash on a regular cycle.
